Bob
Reid has presented thousands of workshops and performances for children
and adults over the past twenty-five years. His songs are sung by numerous
performers around the United States, including Pete Seeger, David
Grover, Bill Harley, and Two of a Kind.
A fifth-generation Californian of
African American, Native American, French, Spanish, German, and Jewish
descent, he is well known for the quality of his presentations for
children which began in 1976 with the Monterey Peninsula Museum
of Art's "Museum on Wheels" program. He was one of the
original artists in the Santa Cruz County Cultral Council's SPECTRA in
1980. He has performed thousands of concerts, school assemblies, and
workshops in various parts of the country and has gained a national
reputation for quality work with children. His songs are sung by
musicians, children, parents, and teachers throughout the country. He
has been a California Arts Council Artist in Residence and has recorded
three highly acclaimed collections of music for children, Bob Reid with
Abracadab, Marz Barz, and We Are The Children. For three years, he
hosted PBS-TV station KTEH's "Kid's Clubhouse."
