Recordings
"Bob Reid with Abracadab" was recommended by the School Library Journal for
it's"Superb original songs!" and by Children's Artists Making a Living
as,"An excellent example of what children's music should be!" 1985. Several of
the songs were written by school children in workshops. One, "The Whale Song",
was sung by the children who had written the song.
"Marz Barz ","Whether you are listening to silly songs like
"Marz Barz"
and "Pockets" or timely songs about pollution entitled "Do You Care About
Earth" and "Garbage" you and your children will love the ingenious sounds of Bob Reid and
Friendz!" -Peninsula Parent Magazine. 1989. A collection of material used in
performances and including songs written in songwriting workshops with students.
The latest release, "We Are the Children" 1994. Recorded using primarily
children's voices, praised for offering songs of greater emotional range than most
children's recordings. Many original songs, some written by friends.
"There's a Light In You" will be the next recording to be released. This recording
continues the extensive use of children singing using material to stretch the expectations
of what constitutes a "children's recording."
"Bradlyn & Reid -Then & Now" is a recording of adult music, recorded
with his singing partner of some twenty years, Mark Bradlyn, to be released
soon.
